Is SportsBetting.com legal and safe?

While SportsBetting.com is a new sportsbook and you might not be familiar with it, that doesn’t mean it’s not legal and safe. In order for a sportsbook to operate in states throughout the US, it must obtain a sports betting license from the agency or commission that oversees gambling.

In Colorado, the first state SportsBetting.com went live in, the Colorado Division of Gaming issued the company a license as an internet betting operator. SportsBetting.com is partnered with Johnny Nolon’s Casino in Cripple Creek.

As the sportsbook goes live in other states, it will need to obtain similar licenses and will need to maintain certain standards to keep those licenses. It’s just like what a bar or restaurant needs to do in order to keep its liquor license.

For all these reasons, we feel confident in saying that SportsBetting.com is both legal and safe to use for your sports betting needs.

Here’s a look at where SportsBetting.com stands in the following states:

  • Colorado: Launched in September 2020.
  • Indiana: Planning to go live in the near future.
  • New Jersey: Planning to go live in the near future.
  • Iowa: Planning to go live in the near future.

SportsBetting.com app review

SportsBetting.com has launched the first version of its native iPhone app, with a more sophisticated version expected soon. Android users can place bets directly on their website.

The lack of an app for android users honestly isn’t as big of an issue as it might seem. While the iOS app is a nice option, all you need to do on your android is open up SportsBetting.com’s website in your browser of choice on your phone or tablet, and from there it functions in very much the same way as the app.

SportsBetting.com sportsbook review

Since SportsBetting.com does not have an app, that means the experience will be the same for pretty much everyone, whether you’re using the website or app on a computer, tablet or phone and whether you’re using an Android or iOS device.

Here’s a look at our thoughts on the site’s performance:

  • Speed: Could be a little better. When you click on various sports, the page opens right away, but then it takes a few seconds for the odds to populate. Definitely not a deal breaker, but if you’re in a hurry it definitely will slow you down a tiny bit.
  • Overall performance: Other than the little bit of lag time we mentioned above, there’s no issues. Easy to navigate and multiple ways to cruise around the site.
  • Markets: All the sports you would expect to find at any reputable sportsbook are available at SportsBetting.com. You can get to them via the bar at the top or on the side of the website.
  • Live betting: Live betting is accessible via the tab at the top of the page and brings up all the current sports going on that you can wager on. This is where the lag time potentially will pose the most problems. If scores and odds aren’t updating instantly, you could end up placing bets based on outdated information.
  • Bet slip: Exactly what you want and would expect from a bet slip. You easily can see what you’re betting on, the odds, the amount of money you’re betting and the amount you stand to win if correct.
  • General layout: The layout is similar across most online sportsbooks, and SportsBetting.com doesn’t disappoint in this regard. On the homepage you’ll see a listing of live events and upcoming games, while across the top of the page you can navigate to all the sports offered, see what promotions the site is running and access the live chat feature. Live chat is available 24 hours a day if you run into any problems.
  • Cashier: Depositing and withdrawing money at SportsBetting.com is easy to do, which is a must at any online sportsbook. Simply click the “Deposit” tab at the top of the page or your account balance, and you’ll be able to add or take out the amount of your choosing.

SportsBetting.com overall user experience

Com

As a newer sportsbook, SportsBetting.com has done a good job of sticking with what works. Getting around the site is no problem whatsoever from your first time on it. The search bar near the top of the page allows you to zero in on the exact game or event you’re looking for with ease.

While there’s nothing about SportsBetting.com that jumps out as being drastically better than the competition, the only negative we found is the small delay in the odds loading, specifically when it comes to live betting.

Creating a new account

SportsBetting.com boasts that it takes less than two minutes to create your account, and that’s not far off. The process is simple and exactly what you can expect to find when creating an account at an online sportsbook.

Once you’re at the sportsbook homepage, you’ll click the “Join” button at the top. From there you’ll enter your email, full name, date of birth, last four digits of your Social Security number, address and phone number, and be required to create a password and verify that you’re at least 21 years old.

After that, you can choose to deposit money, set limits on how much you’re able to wager at SportsBetting.com or simply continue onto the site.

There’s nothing at all tedious or extraneous about the sign-up process.

How does SportsBetting.com benefit casual bettors?

If you’re new to sports betting, SportsBetting.com is not complicated to use and easy to understand.

When you place wagers, your bet slip displays what you’re betting on, how much you’re risking and how much you can win if right. All of these features are must-haves for new or inexperienced bettors.

There is plenty of information under the FAQ section, as well, including a section all about “Betting and Sports.” In that section it breaks down betting terminology and also sport terminology for those unfamiliar with specific sports.

SportsBetting.com also has a live chat feature that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so if you do have any problems, there is always someone there to help.

How does SportsBetting.com benefit experienced bettors?

If you’re an experienced sports bettor, you know what all the bet types are and how the odds work. What you’re after is a site that gives you the best odds and makes placing bets and depositing and withdrawing money a breeze. SportsBetting.com does exactly that.

You can get from one sport to another with ease, and while the site hasn’t been around for a long time, we’ve seen that the odds definitely are competitive with other, bigger name sportsbooks out there. It is something that we’ll continue to track going forward — because it doesn’t matter how well a sportsbook functions, if the odds it offers aren’t competitive with other books, it’s not worth using.

SportsBetting.com betting options

Whatever type of sports bets you’re after, you’ll find them at SportsBetting.com

Of course you’ll find the most common bets like moneylines, over/unders, against the spread, and the ability to make parlays. It also offers a great deal of futures bets across the majority of the sports.

You also have the ability to drill down into each game, where you’ll find a plethora of extra bets available on most games, including prop bets and alternate lines. On certain NFL games, for example, SportsBetting.com offers an amazing number of prop bets focused on player stat totals for the game.

As we’ve mentioned before, the bet slip feature is great, especially when it comes to placing parlays. The reason for this is that you’re able to see exactly how much extra you’ll win when adding legs to your bet, making it easier to decide if you want to add or remove selections from your parlays.

Live betting is available, too, with our only worry being the site’s sometimes slow load times. If this problem were to increase during busy times, NFL Sundays perhaps, it could create problems when it comes to live betting specifically.

Overall, the betting options at SportsBetting.com are exactly what you would want to find at an online sportsbook.

What sports can I bet on at SportsBetting.com?

We know what the initial roster of sports will be at SportsBetting.com because they’ve told us. As well as the initial marketing output, the company’s social media feed is littered with commentary and updates from the latest sporting events. As SportsBetting.com customer you’ll be offered odds on the more than 10,000 events each month for the following sports:

  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Boxing
  • Cycling
  • Formula 1
  • Darts
  • Badminton
  • Aussie Rules Football
  • Table tennis
  • Rugby
  • Cricket

What’s not available at SportsBetting.com

We don’t see anything significant missing compared to other regulated sportsbook. All the major sports are available to bet on at SportsBetting.com, as are the majority of the smaller, fringe options like table tennis, rugby, darts, cricket and even snooker. As discussed above, you won’t lack for types of bets available, either.

It’s safe to say that if there’s even a reasonably big sporting event going on, you’ll be able to bet on it at the site.

SportsBetting.com odds boost

While it’s not continuously available, SportsBetting.com does often offer odds boost. For example, it ran for two weeks straight heading into the Super Bowl. Check in with the app to see if it’s happening now.

SportsBetting.com pricing

How a sportsbook measures up when it comes to the odds it offers is right at the top of the list of whether you should do business with it or not. And one of the most important lines to look at when comparing various books is the moneyline.

We took a look at how SportsBetting.com compared to other popular books going into Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season. And SportsBetting.com held its own against sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM.

Comparing the four sportsbooks, we found that it was a fairly even spread between which had the best odds for any particular game. If you wanted to make the most money possible, you would compare each game and bet on the site with the best odds. But we know that’s not reasonable to expect for the majority of people out there.

Since SportsBetting.com was in line with the other three and sometimes even offered the best odds, it’s safe to say it offers extremely competitive pricing. This is an area to keep an eye on at all sportsbooks, though, to make sure you’re getting the best return on your sports betting investments.

How to deposit and withdraw from SportsBetting.com

Depositing money at any online sportsbook obviously is an extremely important feature. Currently, SportsBetting.com is a little lacking in the options available for bettors.

Here are the current deposit methods:

  • Visa
  • Skrill
  • Mazooma ACH

It stands to reason that SportsBetting.com is likely to add more options in the near future, such as being able to use a credit card or PayPal, but until it does, it could limit the number of people willing or able to do their sports betting on the site.

If your bank is one of those available for doing a bank transfer and/or you’re comfortable using Skrill, then you shouldn’t have any problems. There is a minimum $10 deposit required.

As for cashing out your winnings, you first need to make sure your account has been verified. To verify your account, you’ll need to first verify your identity using either a passport, drivers license, national ID card or citizenship certificate.

Next you’ll need to verify your address using either a utility bill, tax bill or copy of your bank statement. Finally, you’ll need to verify your payment by having a credit or debit card on file, sending a copy of your credit or debit card account statement or a copy of your bank statement.

Once all that is complete, you can click on withdraw from the account menu and request the amount you would like sent to the card or bank of your choosing. At that point, it will take between one and five business days to receive your money.

How to contact customer support

By clicking the chat button at the top of the page, you’ll have the option to either initiate a live chat, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or request to have someone from customer support call you back or send an email.

The live chat feature is something that’s great to have because while hopefully you don’t run into any problems, if you do, you don’t want to have to wait hours on end or days to talk to someone.

History of SportsBetting.com

Poker

SportsBetting.com is part of the Carousel Group, a company based in Europe.

It entered into the sports betting marketplace in the United States in September 2020, with Colorado being the first state it went live in. It became the 15th online sportsbook in the state at the time of launch.

In Colorado, SportsBetting.com is partnered with Johnny Nolon’s Casino in Cripple Creek.

SportsBetting.com FAQ

How do I win at SportsBetting.com?

To win, you need to bet. To do that, you’ll need to make a deposit. Once you’ve got some funds in your account, you can speculate on sporting events from around the world. If your prediction is correct, you’ll win a prize. Simple.

Is SportsBetting.com legal in the US?

Yes. It is live in Colorado under the wing of Johnny Nolan’s Casino. The plan is to launch apps in other states where sports betting is legal. We don’t know where or when these moves will happen though we’d expect the sportsbook to next go live in Indiana and New Jersey. Other possible states include Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia, and Illinois.

Is SportsBetting.com safe?

Yes. The site uses the latest desktop and mobile security protocols, including secure payment processors and SSL encryption. The company as a whole is bound by state regulations and it has a comprehensive insurance policy that guarantees all player funds and payouts. If you’re looking for an online sportsbook to join, SportsBetting.com is not only an attractive option but a safe one as well.

Moneyline does NOT have a marketing relationship with any of the products or services listed on this page.
SportsBetting.com may be one of the newer apps on the block, but it handles nearly as well as some of the more seasoned sportsbooks. The generous new-customer promotion — one of the best we’ve ever seen — easy-to-navigate app, robust lineup of props bets, daily odds boosts and sports news make it a solid pick for bettors of all experience levels.

Pros and Cons for 2021

After testing 20 online sportsbooks for our 2021 review, here are our top findings on SportsBetting.com:

  • SportsBetting.com’s first-time deposit match of 200% up to $500 with a 1X rollover is one of the best we’ve seen.
  • Although the variety of bets and live bets is not yet on par with DraftKings or PointsBet, most bettors (ourselves included) will be satisfied with the offerings.
  • Standout features at SportsBetting.com include fresh news articles, game previews, and game predictions.

Supported States: Colorado, Iowa (expected 2021), and New Jersey (expected 2021).

Sports and Bets Offered

SportsBetting.com brings all of the sports (10 to 15 throughout the year), bets, and common features that bettors expect from any sportsbook. Where its betting menu exceeds expectations is with the sheer number of prop bets and daily odds boosts it offers.

Prop bets: SportsBetting.com has a strong prop bets game. Bettors can choose among a few dozen player and team props for most games — that’s more than you’ll find on many sports betting sites. (Quick refresher: A prop bet is a bet that focuses on something other than the outcome of the game, typically team or player stats (e.g., “Will Damian Lillard record over or under 33.5 points?”).) SportsBetting.com also offers prop bets you won’t often see elsewhere, such as, “Will Chris Paul record over or under 28.5 points, rebounds, and assists.”

Cash out feature: Like most sportsbooks, SportsBetting.com offers a cash out feature. This allows bettors to amend their original bet and lock in a profit or a loss by settling the bet (or a portion of the bet) before the event has finished.

Daily odds boosts: Odds boosts are another frequent feature of online betting sites. SportsBetting.com calls its odds boosts “Bet Boosts.” Here’s how it works: If the sportsbook boosts the odds of the Denver Nuggets to cover the spread and the game’s over/under to hit from +260 to +310, you would win $3.10 instead of $2.60 for every $1 you wagered.

Odds

We are still collecting odds data on SportsBetting.com. Our SportsBetting.com Odds rating will be released in early 2021.

Methodology: To score Odds, Moneyline.com gathers data from 21 sportsbooks over several months. For our 2020 Sportsbook Review, over 10,000 data points were collected for spread, moneyline, and over/under (bets).

I collected odds for spread, moneyline, and total bets for over 75 NFL games, 75 MLB games, 75 NBA games, 75 NHL games, 75 Soccer games (various leagues), and 75 NCAA Football and 75 NCAA Basketball games. When collecting odds, I collected the same games simultaneously for each sportsbook, ensuring data accuracy.

Live Betting

Live betting at Sportsbetting.com is just a feature or two away from receiving a higher rating. Although its live statistics and number of live prop bets are noteworthy, the absence of instant bets and a running clock for football games tempered our overall enthusiasm.

Instant bets: The lack of instant bets is one of SportsBetting.com’s secondary shortcomings. Instant bets allow you to bet on the outcome of the next drive in a live NFL game, for example, or the next five minutes of a live soccer game (known as “interval betting”).

Prop bets: Bettors will find more than 15 to 20 live props per game. (Reminder: A live prop bet (e.g., “How many points will Russell Westbrook score”) is a prop bet on a game while it is still being played.)

Live match tracker: While it’s not uncommon for live match trackers to display statistics (in addition to a game clock, live score and what team possesses the ball), SportsBetting.com takes it to the next level. For example, during football games I was able to view a recap of each team’s drive, each score by quarter, and stats like total touchdowns. I was surprised that SportsBetting.com offered these awesome statistics and not a live match tracker for NBA games. For football games, the app has a static clock and not a running clock.

Live Streaming: You’ll have to look elsewhere — like FanDuel or Unibet — if you want to stream live sporting events through an app when you’re betting. SportsBetting.com doesn’t live stream. Be aware that for all sportsbooks, live streaming is currently limited to international sports (such as basketball, soccer, hockey, tennis, and table tennis matches) because of the high costs of licensing live broadcasting rights.

SportsBetting.com Mobile App

The SportsBetting.com app is simple to navigate and easy to use, but we noted that click responsiveness felt out of sync a few times during our testing.

SportsBetting.com News: We’re going to dwell on this feature because we think it’s worth the extra words. SportsBetting.com is of the few online sportsbooks that provides sports content to customers — everything from news to game previews to predictions. It publishes multiple times each week for the biggest sporting events. (I pored over a few of the NFL game previews.) Too often sportsbooks bury their content deep in the app. We found it refreshing that we didn’t have to hunt for news coverage.

Education

SportsBetting.com’s educational content is a mixed bag. On one hand, it provides an extensive glossary of basic and advanced betting terms. On the other hand, the sheer volume of terms isn’t helpful if you don’t know which ones are key. An introductory guide for beginners using some of the definitions from its glossary and images of real bets would be a good addition.

Bonuses & Promotions

For avid sports bettors who open accounts at multiple sportsbooks, the new-customer promotion alone makes SportsBetting.com worthwhile. It’s one of the best we’ve seen in 2021. After that, you’ll want to stick around for the ongoing promotions, which are also generous.

New customers: SportsBetting.com offers a 200% deposit match up to $500 with a 1X rollover for first-time customers. A 1X rollover for a 200% deposit match is a rarity that bettors should take advantage of. A 1X rollover means if you deposit $250 and receive a $500 bonus, you only have to wager $750 (($250 + $500) x1) before you can withdraw the bonus money. The only caveat is that you must wager the bonus money within seven days after receiving it. (Note: Bonuses change throughout the year; the bonuses discussed may or may not still be active.)

Sportsbetting.com Review

Existing customers: SportsBetting.com’s ongoing promotions left us grinning, too. Throughout the year it offers a handful of high-quality promotions (there were five when we were testing). The dollar amount of bonus money available for each promotion — and the overall variety of promos for multiple sports — is impressive. If you’re looking for comparable sportsbooks that offer a lot of ongoing promotions, check out DraftKings or PointsBet.

Final Thoughts

Based on the variety and value of promotions alone, SportsBetting.com is worth checking out for bettors who live in Colorado, Iowa, or New Jersey. We were impressed with the bonuses (for new and existing customers), and appreciated the simple mobile app and timely news coverage. That said, SportsBetting.com has some work to do on its live betting menu and educational content.

Methodology

For the BettingBuck.com annual best online sportsbooks review published in 2020, a total of 2,300 data points were collected over six months and used to score sportsbooks. Additionally, odds data was collected for each sportsbook on over 1,400 bets to give each sportsbook a comparative odds ranking.

Sports betting sites were scored across seven core categories to computer an overall rating: total number of sports and bets offered, odds, live betting features, mobile apps, educational resources, ease of use, and current bonuses.
